Angry Mr. Gasket Head Gaskets

If anyone is using Mr. G. head gasket part # 1130 steel shim gaskets, be warned that they are no longer hold to the old spec of 4.100 from the package. I found out the hard way by relying on the specs that have been using with that product for so many years. The newer head gaskets that are silver in color are 4.170 to 4.200 crushed instead of the old head gasket that was 4.090 crushed. I missed a race because of the head gaskets leaking water in different cylinders after changing them just 2 weeks before the event. They don't seal well because they are too close to the water jackets due to the lack of material. Talking to the Mr. G.'s representitive, he told me that their vendor decided to encompass all the small block chevy's with one head gasket and there was no spec changes reflecting that on the packages or any literature of anykind.
