Default Super Stock Shfiter

We're building a '66 Nova for SS/HA with a Turbo 350 transmissiion. Looking for recommendations on an electric shifter that will make both shifts and is reliable. I've looked at the Shifnoid unit, but don't know anyone who's using one. I'd prefer to use an electrical unit as opposed to an air operated shifter. Anyone have any experience with shifters, I'd appreciate your comments. Thanks for the help!

I just installed a shifnoid last week in my car with a 350 turbo and a b/m shifter. The shifnoid works great as long as the shifter cable routing is straight and smooth, other wise it wont overcome the resistance caused by a little bind or missalignment. I actually had to reposition the pan bracket for a straighter shot going into third. I tested the unit probably a 100 times without a hickup.

Long makes a great shifter that is not reliant on air pressure or amperage fluctuations. Also does not use a cable to move the transmission levers so you don't have to worry about a cable binding or even burning from your headers. No electronic chips are needed to set shift points. They have both a T-handle or the newest is a pistol-grip.

Jeff;
I didn't think Long made automatic trans shifters. If they do, I can't find it on their web site. Any info appreciated. Thanks! Tom

Good one Jeff.(chuckling) That's some stealthy humor there. Barely showed up on the radar screen. I liked it! And good advice too, provided one can afford it. Wish I could.

That must work well with Youngbloods torque convertors.
