Default index changes

was wondering about the index changes and cars going from say 10.20 to a 9.90 etc. what about safety equipment needs that will be forced upon them? has anyone thought about it or brought it up yet??

Safety equipment requirements have been based on how fast you go - A-stockers don't need a cage if they aren't faster than 10-flat, etc.

there will be some changes for safety..like neck collars and thicker jackets... adding bars to the cars that now have to be indexed quicker. what about trans shields now? the list can go on....

Not so, Tim.
M/SA cars needed a roll bar @13.15 (now 12.85)
Bracket cars; 11.49

The roll bar requirement for M/SA was because the record was in the 11.'s and at that time the rule book required a bar at 11.99. However, that should still hold true for the A cars as well since the record is well into the nines but it doesn't. Just like needing a certified cage for GT/GA and not for H the G record is or at one time was in the 9's.
