I got my shiny new TAYLOR battery box yesterday and am wondering
about the mounting of it. Read through the NHRA rule book and only find a reference to 1/2" bolts (2) for a weight box bolted through the floor/frame rail. Same for a battery box or just the two threaded rods through the box and trunk floor?

The box and battery should both be bolted THRU the frame rail , or a suitable crossmember. The box with at least two 1/2" bolts and the battery hold down with 3/8" or larger. .....The sheetmetal of the floor wont hold up against the mass of the weight box or battery in the event of a crash. ...........Tom

Tom,
Thank you, then I can mount the battery box the same way I did the weight box in my old stocker, with 2 1/2" bolts through the trunk floor and the frame rail on the right side. Man makes plans, God laughs.
