Default SG Door car tire pressures

Just curious where people are finding their best tire pressures. I search, but most threads seem to come from dragsters running 5-6 pounds.

I'm in a 2600 pound door car. Currently 60' in 1.200 seconds. 1.80 glide, 4.30 rear end. 104" rollout rear tires (NOT stiff sidewall).

I run about 9.5 pounds hot. 8.5 cold. +/- based on weather.

Too high? Too low? Just right?

The more air pressure you can run the better. It will also help your rt. I run anywhere between 10 to 12 lbs. depending on track conditions, but I do run more than most. 3200 lb Chevy II. Hope this helps some.

Sure that helps. Thanks. Love to hear more people's examples too.

Same pressure hot or cold? Don't your cold tires coming off the trailer heat up enough to add a pound from the first burnout?

I'm trying to get to about 9.5 pounds immediately after the burnout. That's why first pass I have set about a pound lower.

Am I doing it wrong?

We alway run 7.25lbs, hot or cold. 1971 Challenger, 2640lbs w/driver, 33x16 Hoosier tires, runs 155mph.

If you can run more air, still cut a light and not spin - then your better off with more. Our car happens to like it in between 7 & 7.5.
