Default stocker wiring

In stock, is it legal to remove the factory wiring harness under the dash and hood and replace with aftermarket panel with ignition switch on panel? Thanks, Ron.

Which is better? My Nova has original wiring and is in good shape.

Forgot to add that I'm just starting the stocker build with it.

The first thing I did when I started building my AMX to a STocker was replace all the wiring with a painless kit with switch panel, fuse panel and relays where appropriate. After 25+ years on the road, numerous stereo systems, CB's and assorted other splices and dices, it was a job that needed to get done. I've seen some real rat's nests for wiring in the pits. Imagine your in your first final...you go to start the car and it a smoldering puff comes from behind the dash. Would it be worth the risk?
