2nd weekend out for a new car and new driver... I was quietly paying attention all weekend to the young gun across the pit road from me. This kid is sharp, on both ends of the race track. You're going to be seeing his name a lot in the future!
Congratulations Adam Keir on an outstanding job, winning the Sportsman Nationals at Richmond Dragway, and qualifying for the IHRA Tournament of Champions at the World Finals! (and of course to Ken! I know he was proud!)

I met Adam Keir on memorial day weekend at M. G. Was checking out his stunning Nova, he was really proud of the car and giving me lots of info on the build up. I've been involved in the sport as announcer mostly and racer since the very early sixties. Have seen a lot of really fine cars over all these years but this is certainly a top shelf race car. Adam, hope you have much success driving this car, enjoy it. It was a pleasure meeting you. Hope to see you again soon!

Suprised I was red.... nope...I occasionally chase a spot that will come up maybe -010 red...havent gotten it out of my system in the 25 or so passes I've made in the car. But I was suprised it was that red, I was .005 green and -.002 red in that lane...and went back there for my time run and was green so...what do you do. Richmond did seem to be a little tight and the tree is close, I was thinking of reaching out and unscrewing your bottom bulb when we were staging!
Yeah the car leaves hard, and I'm working on that too...its gotten a little better with airbags, etc. Guess I will see you at Skyview, or maybe the 5's at the Beav...?? |

It was really nice meeting Adam and his Dad this weekend. What a great TEAM! The car is unbelievable (that's why he got best engineered) and the driver isn't half bad either. Hope they come down south to see us some.

Richmond was about .020 tight. I've raced on a handful of Accutime systems, and they're all tight compared to a typical Compulink, just like the majority of TSI systems are .02 loose. I had two -.013 reds on Saturday, which was my double-oh spot. All of my 'good' lights were when I was missing it, then I had made adjustments to the car where my good spot was green, so when I missed it on Adam, I'm .04x. bleagh! Should be fine next year, as I'll know what to expect, and won't be poking around trying to get set up right. Unscrewing the bottom would've helped me... LOL I've actually played on a full-size practice tree that way before when we had a bulb out. Didn't change a thing, which just proves that I'm counting the tree, whether or not I admit it to myself.
I really enjoyed Skyview last year, but I could afford to go that far with the gold card last year. I plan on being at Beaver Springs for the $5K S/SS Combo, though... that's my home track, and I've always wanted to go to the York race. Now I finally have an excuse! What about the World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol?
