Default P.G.cooler

My son has a power glide in his car, new this year last weekend trans temp went high 235 after many rounds of racing. He has 2 coolers on this run in series, when it got hot he said he felt 1 cooler line was hot the other was cold, also both coolers were cold. This week he pulled both lines off the trans and started engine he tells me fluid is coming out of both lines, any ideas? this does not seem normal to me. Joe

where are you taking temp. readings from? the pan or the cooler line? those can be a big difference. pan temp. is the better location.

Temp probe is in trans pan, cast alum. I guess what concerns me most is pressurized oil at both cooler lines this makes no sense to me. Joe

It's likely the cooler bypass valve in the pump is either stuck open or missing . .....That would allow fluid to flow from both lines. .........misaligned shaft sealing rings or damaged rings can cause a loss of cooling circuit pressure, making it difficult for the oil to have enough pressure to flow thru 2 coolers. .......Tom
