How many pounds of fuel pressure should you be running with a Quadrajet carburetor?

Al:
From a performance standpoint what would you guess you gained in ET and speed going from 6 1/2 psi to 8 1/2? How much did you lower the float level? We have a decent fuel system Holley Pump w/ large fuel lines. Carb was done by Parson & Meyers guy. We run a BB Chevrolet stocker. Thanks for the response.

what i did is bring the fuel pressure up until it was about to come out of the vent tube, have someone look at the fuel pressure gauge at that point. i lowered the pressure one pound from that point. remember the gauge is just that, and not always accurate. rhino reinhart
