If I read the rule book right it says that aftermarket seats must be braced to the roll bar.
My question is do I have to do the same if the car has the original bench seat? All it says is that it is suggested that the seat track should be bolted so as not to allow unwanted movement. Sheldon Gecker once told me that he moved his seat back and forth to aid in traction. I have a '64 max wedge car and want to use the original bench seat...will it fit the current rules? |

I believe what the rule book is stating is that aftermarket seats need
to be "attached" to the roll bar, a bar or bracket bolted to the seat back and welded to the cross bar. Now with the bench seat you may need to add a "head rest" coming off the top hoop so that your helmet will contact this point if you go backwards.
