I just received an e-mail offering Race Car insurance (sender "nhranews@nhra.com) from Wells Fargo. I didn't know Wells Fargo offered insurance at all, let alone race car insurance. So far, I've only read the e-mail and haven't touched "click here". Does anyone have any information about this offer?

I received it also. I'm somewhat perplexed in that I don't ever remember getting a sales pitch on anything from nhra.com. Does that mean NHRA is now going into the spam business and is getting a cut?
I forwarded it to my race car insurance broker Don Kennedy. He hasn't got back with me because @ 8:00 pm tonight, after getting in line @ 7:00 am yesterday, he is just now getting into the AZ Nats!

I believe if I was in the market for insurance for my racecar, There are several racers that sell policies rather than a company that contacts me out of the blue. Seems like spam to me. One other thing to think about is how this company chose to use their 25 billion dollar bail out loan they received from the government.....If you research it you will find they purchased Wachovia Bank with a large portion of it rather than using it to help stimulate the economy. Just my opinion.

You all don't think maybe NHRA sold their membership list to Wells Fargo?

Did any of you fill out the long marketing questionnaire sent by the NHRA about a year ago or so(AND SEND IT BACK)? The questionnaire had a a bunch of general questions in there and I'm sure your email address and racing insurance was part of it. Not sure though as I just tossed the junk mail in the trash.
Toss that crap in the garbage next time you get one from a marketing group hired by NHRA.

Better to run it through a shredder than just toss it in the trash.
At least out here in sunny SOCAL people go through your trash.

Questionare was all about where its stored, who is driving the tow vehicle, gas stored in garage, car stored in the trailer, etc. Cost was lower, great, pay less, have no coverage? I would compare and contrast the other carriers that advertise in Dragster, you know that you would have a PERSON to call and discuss things with. People who have a clue about the sport, racers. We likely wouldn't buy our HOME insurance from a email now would we.......Especially from one on the list of banks using our money! Eric Merryfield Stk 1883

I got two copies of the e-mail. First e-mail I've gotten from "nitro news" in a looong time, that I recall. The design work looked pretty fly-by-night for a major company like Wells Fargo. It could easily be assumed to be a forged e-mail header, like all the "update your account!" notices I get from banks that I don't have accounts with...
