Can anybody give me an idea of what kind of gas milage a '05 Dodge 2500 Hemi / 6 speed would get. I know the automatics are not to good. I tow an open trailer about 5000 lbs.

I have a 05' 1500 that gets 15-17 mpg towing an open trailer with a 3300 car.
I put a K&N kit and flowmasters to get that mileage. Not sure about a 2500 though.

Bobby, what MPG are you getting without the car/trailer?? That's damn impressive for a Hemi.My '02 4.7 is getting 13.5 pulling a 5500# open trailer/car combo.

I've got a bone stock 04' Hemi Quad Cab 2wd I bought new with almost 50,000 miles now, and going down the freeway if I behave myself, it will get 20-22 mpg. I've never checked it pulling my 24ft.Wells Cargo with my Nova in it, but its deffinately better than my old 454 Suburban that got 11mpg pulling or not.
Maybe I can check it this weekend if the rain stays away. Danny Durham |

I've got the automatic in mine. I remember the salesman telling me you could'nt get a manual transmission with the Hemi,, only the diesel and the base engines. Since then I've seen a Hemi / stick combo on a 2500 with 4wd, an 05' I believe, so I know they are out there. That salesman was'nt the brightest light in the harbor, and he was gone shortly after I got my truck in 04'
Hope that helps,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Danny Durham |

Danny, Thats the exact combo I came across, '05 Hemi with 6 speed, 2500 4wd. I guess it was a special order and very few were built.

George,
Yeah he likes being back up there. Summers are way too hot down here. The only good thing is we have year round racing. I would like to try and venture up there and make the New England national event.

Bobby,
It's a great race, I hope they continue it, you never know what's going to happen with the buyout by the Circus. Come on up, we'd love to meet you, I guess your dad only lives about an hour from Epping. |
