My car always runs faster when it's cool out, just as everyones does. Here in Buffalo, it's going to be 85-88 degrees this weekend, especially on Friday (race night). also everyone knows that's gonna slow you down a little. Would it help to lean out the secondaries with different rods and a different hanger when it's hot, seeing it will run faster in the cool air that makes a leaner mixture?

You just need to test it. Many guys change their jets and rods more than needed. Carbs self correct more than a lot of guys think. Lower baro = less fuel if you don't do anything to it. They work on pressure differential. If you were too rich when it was cool it will slow more when it heats up than if it were right on the money before. Cars (with iron blocks) that don't make more power with cold water are usually too lean. After you get it right on the money once, you will probably find it won't not need changed often.
Good luck, Ed

Thanks for the reply Ed. I never have changed rods or hangers but after some thinking on how it runs faster in the cooler air, I figured in the warmer air it may run just as fast with less fuel. Am I thinking in the right direction? thanks
