I had 2 issues with my car.
First is was really hard to push while in the staging lanes so we checked the brakes. Back ones okay, the front ones if you have the car jacked up and tried to spin them would only spin about 1 time. So we loosened them up and now they spin about 5 times. Second problem was the alignment, had someone video my car and could not believe how much negative camber it had going down track. took it to the alignment shop and had them jack the frontend up 2 inches which is where it is going down track. Had 3 degrees of negative camber, now it has 0. With these 2 things fixed it has to be a lot less drag going down track. I had a couple people give me some estimates. Car ran a 1.48 6.90 99.44 MPH last weekend before the changes, how much ET can I expect to pick up with less drag. |

I was told the alignment would be .03-.04 and the brakes .02-.03 in the 1/8th so i should be 6.83-6.85.
Does this sound right?? |

I know a guy that made a pass in his low 14 second street car with the emergency brake activated. Once he discovered this, he was all excited about how much faster he would go. He was sverely disappointed! Picked up a negligible amount; maybe a few hundreths. Why? A body in motion stays in motion. Yes, drag is bad in racing but once you break the
grip of the brakes loose (on launch), the hard part is done. And I think an excessive amount of toe would be more detrimental than cam.ber. But by all means, fix the problems. Eventually they'll all ad up!
