Good evening. Please forgive my lack of stick shift and clutch knowledge, but I haven't done much aside from driving a manual tranny since the late 1990's. Looking for input on the correct orientation for installing this shift fork. Pretty sure the flat side (top in pic) goes toward engine and angled side toward tranny. Or does it really make much difference. Just want to verify if I'm correct, as I've apparently lost my reference pics from disassembly.
Also, the pilot bearing is different than the original. Does it matter if the groove is one way or the other? Thanks.

It looks like the fork was clearanced a bit to clear the hat so that should face the hat of the clutch
I doubt of the groove was anything other than a a groove for an o ring in case the bearing is used in applications that may require it. Should not matter which way the groove is in this application.
