I am looking to find out if (since 1983) if there has ever been a 1983-1988 Turbo 2.3 Thunderbird entered in Super Stock ? (IHRA or NHRA)
I'm not interested in the GT class entries with V-8's, but rather a 2.3 Turbo car. I know there were 2.3T Mustangs, but curious if any member here remembers a Thunderbird with that engine ? Thanks

True.
He has a '87 or '88. And 87-88 Turbo Coupes are not currently allowed in SS.

The 1988 T-Bird Turbo Coupe is listed in the guide with a HP rating of 190, but with no notation that it is a Stock or Super Stock factor. Does that automatically make it a Stock Eliminator combination only? Interesting omission!

This is what threw me off: Most of the SS combos in the classification guide have 2 asterisks above the factory hp number. As the screenshot posted here shows, there is not any. The 302 for the T-Bird has the same hp for both the stock factor and the ss factor. That's what made me think the 140 was stock only. However, as Crew Chief posted above, maybe not designating one or 2 asterisks means it has the same h.p. for both stk. and SS ? So...would that mean it is legal for SS ? ![]()

Yes Dan. At least that is the plan.
SS/PA index is 12.65 and my car (at SS/PA weight) usually runs 12.40's. (in stocker trim) I'm just a roll bar away from SS. ![]()
