Default Electric Autometer Gauge Problem

I have 3 new Autometer Ultra lite electric gauges oil pressure, water temp, and fuel pressure. The issue is they work then they don't, then they are on then off, sometimes its one or all 3, or they freeze! I have checked wiring, plugs, and even added a extra ground wire. Autometer's trouble shooting on web site does not cover this. Any help here would be great. Tom Nolan.

Tom, I only have 1 Autometer electric gage (water temp) however when you say "freeze" you mean the needle just stops moving somewhere on the scale? If so the only time my needle stays still is when I turn the power off to it. For example if the water temp is 140 degrees when I shut the car off the needle will stay @ 140 until I turn the power back on to it. When the gages "come back to life" do they sweep down to 0 then go back to the normal position? If so you either have a power or ground supply issue to the gages. One other thought. Is the ground for the gages the same as for your senders? You may have a ground offset issue. You need to make sure wher ever you have the grounds for the gages it's shared with the engine ground. Since the sender is case grounded you need to ensure it (the sender) has a good ground. Hope this makes sense to you.If your senders are 2 wire disregard the case grounding statement, as the second wire would be ground .Joe

where are you checking fuel pressure from, I'll assume it at a spot mounted to the engine? check your ground lead to your engine. if this fixes the issues you may want to check your a/f ratio now as you were probably short changing your spark plugs on power too (amps)!

i have water temp and brake pressure electric gauges, but have not heard of your symtoms

Fuel pressure is at regulator, it is rubber mounted so I added a ground wire there....still was a issue. Engine has steel mounts plus mid mounts bolted to bell-housing.
