Rim Screw Question
Hello
Would like to get some advice on if wheel screws are needed in my application. I?m finishing up a nostalgia drag car and purchased a pair of Bogart Steelie Dan aluminum wheels for the back. I?d prefer not to install screws but want to make sure the car is safe with a stick shift launch. Race weight is 3,000# G101a 3.08 1st gear 4.88 rear Anticipate 1.25 60ft M/T 29.5x 9 (3056ST) tire Wondering if sandblasting the bead (they need to be powder coated) , and/or high tack is enough, or if I need to suck it up and drill the wheels. Re: Rim Screw Question
I have been OK with sandblasting the bead area of steel wheels, and no lube on the tire beads when installing them. I run 4.57 rear, 3.08 Jerico, 1.5 60' for comparison. Car is a few hundred pounds heavier than yours.
