Default 2" Mini Tub No Advantage ???

Just bought a car that I want to run in stock and it has a 2" mini tub (stock wheel well split and widened 2", springs are hung with offset hangers). 1973 Oldsmobile Omega, Stock width GM 12 bolt and running the required tire size will I be able to run this car ? The mini tub does not gain me anything and I know what the rule book says about it. Just thinking Id be okay being how they let you use after market parts in the engine build that are not stock these days. Any thoughts ? (be nice !!!)

Hopefully the wheel tubs can be put back to stock. There are plenty of places to buy replacement sheet metal.

On that car (73 Omega) if the tubs are moved into the frame (the usual mini-tub) then the upper shock mounts are moved also. You can get replacement sheetmetal to put it back to OEM but you can't run Stock with it the way it is.
