Default Towing with GM L8T ?

Is anyone towing with the GM L8T with the 10 Speed Allison Transmission? If so, what are your thoughts? What size/weight trailer are you pulling? Opinions compared to diesel? I'm currently a Duramax diesel owner and considering the switch. Thanks!

Default Re: Towing with GM L8T ?

My father and I both use 2023 2500HD L8T pickups when we do not feel like using our motorhomes. They have the 6 speed trans not the 10 speed. We both have 28 ft enclosed tag v front trailers when loaded average around 8-10 thousand pounds. We average around 8 MPG towing at 70 mph with low winds and moderate hills. I previously had a 2017 L5P Duramax, does the gasser have the power of the Duramax? Not even close, but the L8T does surprisingly well in my opinion. It is nice not having to worry about DEF and fuel filters/additives. For short ( 4 Hours or less) trips they do the job nicely. Any other questions let me know, I am happy to help!
