Default Re: 10.4 Spec. Chassis Certification

The 10.4 spec is very broad, to cover a wide variety of roadster chassis.
The specs in the NHRA rulebook for roadsters are very general, and dont address many differences in chassis.
Common things to look for ,besides the obvious cage gussets and helmet bars, are proper size tubing and attachment of transmission crossmembers ,proper diagonal bars under the driver AND passenger floor area. and proper rear chassis x bars.
Proper size seat support tubing and proper kidney bar size and location.
If you dont have a chassis inspector or chassis shop near you, call SFI and order the SFI 10.4 spec book,it's only $35 bucks, and can save you a lot of grief if you have an oddball chassis, Brogies are a good example of one thats open to a lot of interpertation, some Inspectors have certed them to Altered chassis specs.
