When I was researching the Holley listed for the 68 Cougar 302/230 I found this quote from Alex Denysenko (Moneymaker) on another board:

"Late Mercury Cougars (Dan Gurney and GT editions) used a R4069 600 cfm 4150 center pivot float Holley. Looks just like a 390 GT carb. (the real one that is, not the one that NHRA allows lol)"

In terms of specs, the QF 585 can replace it, but I don't have anything official on that.

The only factory Holley on a 68 Mustang 302 was the Shelby GT350 which is missing from the Stock Car Guide. It's S8MS 9510-C Holley List No. 4234. The carb is rated at 600 CFM. It was offered as a replacement on the GT350 after May 1968 when it was emission certified. You could get an aluminum manifold on that car, too.
