I lost one on the dyno. It didn't run 10 seconds after it popped. The block was .060, and it took .100 to clean it up. Brenda Grubbs lost one as she started the car in the pits....didn't run 5 seconds. It took one sleeve and a new set of pistons, plus new hone to get it back together. Good luck with your engine. Alan gave you good advice about lifters. They are the best available today.
