We have been dealt a mountain of challenges this week. The track has experienced snowmelt, rain, more rain, more rain today and tomorrow, and unfortunately the weather entertainment people have settled on more than another .5" of rain coming Friday and Saturday. While Sunday's forecast looks good, it is very likely given the extreme level of the water table that Sunday would experience the same water issues and difficulty in getting rubber to adhere to the track as occurred last Sunday.
We've never done rain dates in the past, but the VMP staff (and their other customers) have been gracious and accommodating to rearrange their schedule so that we can bring you the St. Patrick's Classic next weekend, March 20-22, in it's entirety! We are excited, relieved, and thankful for their help in light of the hand that Mother Nature has dealt.
We know that rescheduling is a hardship for many, dealing with hotels, work schedules, and travel plans. We're with you! There is no perfect solution, but we hope to present you with three full competitive days of racing rather than crossing our fingers for a single "iffy" day. We apologize to those who can't join us next weekend, and sincerely appreciate the support of EVERYONE.
