As the final round rolled around, Randy pulled underneath the tower beside Cape Girardeau, Missouri's Wade Owens with his L/SA '66 Chevelle. In what ended up being one of the closest races of the evening, Eakins blasted off the starting blocks with a .520 reaction time to Owens' .541. As Eakins ran down Owens on the top end, the win light flashed in the right hand lane for Eakins. Randy ends up going 6.712 off of the 6.69 dial-in while Wade Owens is dead on the dial-in with a 7.339 off a 7.33, margin of victory at the finish line was 0.008, eight thousands of a second!!
