Default Mid Atlantic .90 Association closes out 2014 season at Atco

The Mid Atlantic .90 Association (Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street) will close out its 2014 season at Atco Dragway on September 27th & 28th. This will be a great warm-up for those of you entered in the NHRA Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove the following weekend. Gates will open at 4:30pm (Weather permitting) on Friday the 26th for those of you who want to get in and set up early. We will park on the Old Tower Side / Bar Side of the track and run out of those staging lanes (Stock & SS will run out of the tower side). Gates will open at 8-9am on Saturday & Sunday with racing starting around 10am beginning with Super Street followed by Super Comp, Stk/SS, Super Gas. For those of you who have never been to a .90 Association Event, we run 2 qualifiers with the closest one to the index to be used for the ladder. We run on a sportsman ladder beginning with 1st round and the higher qualified car gets lane choice for that round only. We will be running on Saturday with the East Coast Stock / SS Series, Top Dragster & Top Sportsman & on Sunday the East Coast Stk/SS Series and 8.50, 10.00 & 11.50 Index Classes. We welcome all racers and you do not have to be a member to run in the series. Gate fee is $35.00 when you come into the gate and then $70.00 paid to my trailer per day. Based on 32 cars the payout is $1,000 but, the more cars the more money that comes to you the racer. We start paying back with 3rd round loser.

Going into this final event all 3 series are wide open and it's anybody's game. Taking a look at MASCA, Joey Cambria holds a slight lead over Kevin Scholl & Dave Long with rookie Mac Dougherty lurking in 4th place. Turning our attention to MASGA, what seemed like a sure championship for Matt Schurman has not become so clear after Cecil County. Multi-Time MASGA Champ Iggie Boicesco & George Donhauser have closed that gap between 1st & 2nd-3rd and will make it a dog fight to the end at Atco. Rounding out the categories is MASSA. Last year Jimmy Stack ran away with the championship by a landslide but, this season everyone has told him "not so fast." Stack leads the points battle by a mere 2 points over Jeff Fisher with past IHRA Champ Keith Mayers only 14 points out in 3rd place. Year-long points leader Kelli Barbato sits in fourth place in a tie with Martie Ganjoin.
