I was a modified junkie as a teen during the 70s. I knew Tony's name from all his racing accolades and class wins during that era, assuming he was an intense hard nosed racer from Div 1. Well, at the '05 Beech Bend Hot Rod Reunion I was in the lanes with a racer friend and there was a guy with a really nice, clean yellow 8 second '62 Vette pushing it through the lanes by himself. We started chatting and found him a very kind, easy going intellectual. We must have chatted for an hour or so. I asked if he needed help and said "oh, no that's okay"..I said "seriously I'd be happy to help" and he happily accepted. Until he rolled up the windows, I wouldn't have seen the name "Tony Feil". That impression of the intense hard nosed racer I always assumed, changed that day. Tony I hope and pray you pull through this. It seems it's always the good guys who we keep losing.
