The DKD's are very reliable and heavy duty but are open type units so they are a little noisier than the closed box designs.

The radiator placement and design makes it tougher to mount for proper airflow....

The closed units draw cool air in and blow hot air out the bottom. Makes it a lot easier to mount them in many MH's and trucks..

I don't see DKD's often.....

I did do a lot of work on one a few months ago.

It was mounted inside a step van type truck that was used as a command center for a local town.....Probably at least 15 years old and just needed some major maintenance........Hoses, belt, etc...

The radiator airflow was ducted out the side of the truck with metal ducting and a louvre

The fuel pump itself has a filter in the bottom of it on most and gets ignored. I think it is a Bendix pump and that style goes back many years...

If I had a choice I'd definitely have a DKD rather than the modern unit...
