I've not seen any problems with hi end trailers like Goldrush or Motorsports, but I sure would'nt leave much snow on one like a Haulmark or any of the cheaper ones.
The roof bows on the Goldrush are aluminum I beam extrusions ,while the cheaper trailers have a stamped lite gauge steel roof bow.
Either way ,I would not let more than a foot on mine before I clear it off.
I know 2 friends who had "covered wagon" type trailers collapse.
