Default Re: Trailer tire recommendation

Well thanks for everyone's opinion. Seems everyone is coming up with what I am finding out. Although the 235/80R16 Goodyear Marathon's are rated at 3440 lbs at 80psi (they only weight 40lbs and only have 11/32 of tread) people have had issues with them. So whats better? There are very few tire manufactures that make a F or G rated tire (I can only find Chinese stuff and they seem to have mixed reviews). Looks like Goodyear LT235/85R16 G614 commercial tire or Michelin XPS rib (both of these tires weigh 55lbs a piece and have 15/32 of tread!) Seems this would be my best choice but they come with a big price tag. Just was hoping someone had a less expensive quality tire. Any other ideas out there. Really would hate to pop a tire because it almost always takes out the fender as well. Bill
