I found an early 2000 msd catalog [real paper pages!]
so yes you can plug a 8738 soft-touch into the 6400 6T. and also an 8739 two step into the 8738. next you can use an rpm module selector #s 8670 thru 8675 [adj. range approx. 2,200 rpm]. I would assume a 3 step 8737 would also work
