Are they talking about engine management computers or about auto transmissions originally being controlled by the computer? Or maybe delay wiper or electronic cruise control computers?
Reason I ask is because the factory /experimental cars came with T400's and PG's, which were shifted by a governor originally.
Factory Stock cars running the TH-400, Powerglide, or C-4 are not computer controlled.

I believe this applies to the other EFI cars that have computer-controlled transmissions.
