Default Re: HP reduction?

I would like to see the AHFS have all runs count at all events that count towards division and national championships. Runs that won’t count, national opens, 1/8 mile runs, All Stars’, and test and tune.

If the AHFS can review and adjust power up twice a year, HP reduction should receive the same treatment. I thought the purpose of the AHFS was to adjust out of line HP above or below the line.

The accounting task will be simplified if each review starts with a clean slate. The rule of can not have a reduction if power was added in the last two review periods causes hours of extra research and clerical errors.

In my opinion what us racers don’t need is requesting HP reductions if the combination does not satisfy all the requirements for reduction. Please read and understand the rules. Do your part to help.

How does NHRA deal with the automatic HP addition of the aluminum heads a few years ago? How do they deal with the switch from factory HP to SAE HP. And to me the biggest and most unfair system that adjusted HP, and lot of those are still on the books, was the committee that Bill, aka “Rosey”, Holt was on.

I have received 29 HP for my run at Indy in a 22 lbs. class and taken a so so car and got it competitive. Not the fastest but competitive. Every .01 second
comes at a price, but for me and others it’s worth it.

Ain’t nothing like seeing the Gold Digger, Mr 413, or other great cars in the other lane racing heads up knowing your not the fastest but they can’t be late
