Went to our local Wal Mart at 6 am. The 6-7 hour is for seniors only. Went straight to the TP rack, along the back wall of the store. Nothing but bare shelves. Not one single roll of TP or paper towels. But, they did have plenty of rolls of blue shop towels.
Hey, they'd be a lot better than the Sears & Roebuck catalog pages, that were in my grandparent's outhouses.
Don't have a clue when we'll be able to buy TP here. WM was also out of LOTS of other items. Not a single egg in the store. No cans of chili. Very few common canned veggies & soup. Almost no chicken. No frozen pizza, in the popular brands/varieties. No loose russet potatoes. No pancake syrup. Very little milk left. And I could name many other items. Lowest stock I've ever seen in WM.
At 7:30, our little town was a strange scene. Gas at WM & the Circle K, at our biggest intersection, was only $1.79. But, there was not one vehicle at either place, at any gas pump.
At that time, the McDonald's & BK drive-thru would normally be packed. Today, there was not one single vehicle in either drive-thru.
Schools are closed, along with most everything else. The only normal traffic I saw were the wood chip trucks. So, I suppose it's business as usual, for our local paper mill & wood haulers.
