Gateway in St Louis has had Black Sunday for years. It's put on by a benevolent organization with proceeds going to help those in need. It has been there for years and other than the NHRA nationals seems to be one of the track's largest events. I have never heard of any problems those weekends, other than the minor stuff that happens at every race. And yes, the gates are open to all and they pay good prize money.

The gang shootings are out of control in most of the country. I hate to see them happening at a track because every national news source I saw referred to it as a drag strip/drag racing shooting.
Dan, in the 1980's, everybody at Great Lakes was drinking lots of adult beverages. However, I don't ever remember anyone being shot to death while waiting for a hot dog. No, Dan, beer had nothing whatsoever to do with the gang banger killing the other bangers. Crack cocaine and heroine were probably the beverage of choice.
