Thanks for the replies - it appears it is a hit or miss deal to get a belt that is tight. The fact is that a 5 year old used of the shelf jesel belt and a much used comp. cam belt unit seem tight,new jesel belts not,all on the same engine.
The question still remains what would this do to cam timing and or performance.
