According to one of my carb customers who asked an NHRA tech man about air cleaner bases, the base cannot be higher than the top of choke housing. He said they should be able to lay a straight edge across the base and it should touch the carb. This will keep racers from adding spacers under the base therefore creating a type of velocity stack.
