My initial thought was "if" a replacement carb was reasonable price just replace it. [I saw some $40.00 - $45.00 carbs on some web sites]

With more checking an exact replacement is no longer available and those $40.00 range carbs are "universal" requiring some adaption.

So, as suggested, float, needle, gaskets, are in route.
