Also, Microsoft stopped all supporting XP a year ago.
Therefore, by modern protocols, is not secure. It lacks ASLR that prevents vulnerabilities and hacking.

Lack of support does not reflect on XP's continued excellence. Modern protocols? Win 7 is a fine OS, but don't think for a moment it is immune from those same vulnerabilities and hacking.

Also, there are no Oracle JAVA updates that work well with XP; therefore, there are many applications and websites that will not work unless you have the latest version of JAVA. This said, it will perform poorly when accessing many sites. Oracle updates JAVA frequently, however, like I said, the new updates are not compatible with XP.

Time moves on and we all do what has to be done to continue. Take note that nearly all programs we use as racers still work wonderfully on XP.

I suggest for anyone that still has XP, to run the disk cleanup feature to see if it helps.
(Right-click, C Drive/ Properties/ Disk cleanup)

Also, the computer may have too many programs and services that are auto-loading and running in the background. Windows XP does not have the capacity anymore to do so and it's one primary reason for complaints of slowness.

Just a matter of time, everything will foul up regardless of OS used...it's bred into the internet. By all means try all the latest and greatest bandaides. They all work to some extent...for awhile.

Rich's rule - Nothing beats an old fashioned wipe/re-install on a as needed schedule.

To be honest about it, I am a known abuser of OS's and computer hardware lol...
