I crewed for Wally Booth in the summer of 69 when he was racing this Hemi Super Bee in SS/E.

The car was originally a 383 when picked up at the dealership. It was driven to Wally's house where we stripped it and dropped in the Hemi and 4speed in addition to a bunch of other mods.

Check out the Fenton wheels supplied to us by Chrysler.

We towed it on a drag star trailer pulled by a color matched Dodge Monaco wagon. It was a great summer traveling to Indy, York, and many other NHRA tracks with Wally, Dicky Arons and Gordy Foust in caravan.

The Hemi Dodge ran a best of 10.90 at York during the nationals there.

Summer of 69.....

I spent most of my summer in 1969 crewing for a friend who campaigned a 1969 street hemi Super Bee in SS/E class. Wally Booth landed a local Dodge dealer sponsorship and the Super Bee was built from a brand new car in his garage in Lincoln Park. It was easy to find.... Parked in the street was my A12 runner, another crew members 68 Hemi Runner, my brothers 68 Charger R/T and the 69 Monaco wagon tow car and drag star trailer.

What are front wheels on this 'Bee called? Very cool.
