My 85 Mustang started out as a 4 cyl. auto, so all the mounting points were mint, for the uppers, we just solidly welded the brackets to the floorpan, (stock is just spot welded), for the lowers, we used what are commonly refered to as "BattleBoxes", which reinforce the front mounting area. I have Maximum Motorsports tubular lower arms, and the uppers are from Auto Weld, which include diff housing brackets that are similar in design to the Lakewood "No Hop" bars, made for Chevelles. The Auto Weld upper mounts have 2 different mounting positions for the upper tubular arms. Also, if you are using a Ford 8.8 rearend, be sure to have the steel tubes solidly welded to the cast center, a axle tube brace is also a good idea. My best 60 foot in M/Stock is a 1.60, but with my current bracket 331 cube , it has a best of 1.37 60 foot, with the car setup exactly the same, other than a gear ratio change for 5.13 down to 4.88s. I also use stock 5.0 GT rear coils springs, along with an Air Lift bag, and Strange adjustable shocks.
