Really does not make sense that it would lose 3 mph but the et slips don't lie. Both stops are essentially 4 hole spacers and the one with no obstruction should be faster.
I would have to guess that it had more to do with fuel distribution and the air speed entering the intake was better when it was turbulent with the std plate. Maybe the fuel was atomized better and it showed up as a MPH gain.....
My car has run 8.90 at 177-178+ with injection.....so that is what I would use for a comparison. I expect to lose some MPH but hope it will not be much. Maybe I will be lucky and a gas carb will run with injection.
I bought the TS-6 I was looking at....
