Well somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but the carbureted Buick turbos were a "blow through" setup were they not? That means that you're pushing boost through the carb and into the intake. That would mean that the carb and the intake are wet with fuel all of the time. Even with the 2-step, the engine should be able to build boost and even if it can't, it would be really loaded with unburned fuel. I wouldn't want that to go "pop".
