Re: Rechrome Bumpers
I'm from Michigan and use a company in the Niagra Falls, NY area called Niagra Custom Plating. They do show quality work.
The thing to consider when looking for a chrome plater is if they do a Copper, Nickel, and Chrome process. A lot of platers skip the copper step. I had a buddy learn the hard way with a local plater. He had his bumpers back numerous times because they couldn't get all of the imperfections out because they skipped the copper plate step. The copper plate allows the plater to remove imperfections in the steel like a primer so, the finished plating is straight and imperfection free. There are chrome platers that are really good and really bad, so do your homework. I would try to use a custom plater because production platers that do bumper chrome plating on the side aren't going to take the extra care with your stuff. Remember you get what you pay for.
