Super stock/supergas motor/combo
Hey guys,
I found this recommened combo on another website. What type of driveline/fuel system would be common with this combo in a 3800 lbs door car? Would a "stock suspension" work or is this territory for back half cars? I have the bottom end parts to replicate this, but the heads would be tricky. I think a set of cast iron rectangular port would work better since my porting skills aren't a high level. I know the valvesprings aren't cheap as well as the other valvetrain..

Yes you can build this engine to that power level.
What you end up with is a Super Stock Supergas motor with very high compression 14:1+
full max ported big valves 781 heads, forged domed pistons (JE, Ross)
Crane full race roller camshaft 280in-290ex @.050" .750" to .800"++ lift 110-112LSA Full race high rpm valvetrain w triple springs may have over 1000# open spring pressure at full lift.
stud girdle and rev kit.
Tunnel Ram and two 750's/850's or a full race single plane (Dart) and Holley Dominator 1350cfm carb. Big tube 2-1/4 Hooker , Hedman Huster race headers
A GM LS-6 or LS7 forged crank is best.
It requires 114octane race gas or methanol.
regular maintenance items will be bearings, valve springs roller lifters and connecting rods. Needs a custom 6000+ rpm race converter and lots of gear and rpm.
Precision machineing and preparation is required, The block, heads and forged rotating assembly need a full race work up.
These are the basics of a 700+ HP 468 oval port head BBC.
This is not a street motor.
