I think any synthetic would be fine, but I really like the lightweight redline. I have been using that for about 6 years now. 1 quart. The big thing is to change it out periodically. I change it once during the season and again in the off season when we look it over. Never had any lube related issues, but I have seen some where they never changed the fluid out and cleaned the magnet. More junk running around inside is not a good thing. The magnet is strong,but it will get "full" of stuff if you don't tend to it once in awhile. I also added some good side drain plugs with rare earth magnets to grab as much debris from wear that I can.
