The current prevailing theory, which I subscribe to, is that you cannot make a pushrod too stiff. If you can get a 7/16" x 0.165" wall pushrod in it, that's what I'd put in it. We all run insane cam profiles and turn them ridiculous RPM, using monster valvesprings. That calls for all the pushrod you can get, to reduce or eliminate the tendency of the pushrod to act like a spring. You only want one spring in your valvetrain, the one that holds the valve shut.
