The pieces I'm talking about won't press back in, they had white glue holding them in place. Those weren't O rings, they didn't go inside when assembled, but we're very visible. If those were O rings, they were harder than my wife's head and didn't seal worth a damn. When those fell off the well below them in the base plate would, of course, be full of fuel. Real dumb way to build a carb. If there was ever a worse design, it had to be the Ford Variable Venturi.
Btw, I love Quadrajets. Made good money rebuilding Quadrajets.
