Eddie Smith was always known for having state of the art cars in competition.

It would be great if you would share those pix here from the era when these cars still had some resemblance of a factory available car.
When you look at the technology that's built into todays competitive SS/AH cars it's a long way away from it's roots.
I wouldn't want to even TRY to bring back a current car to pre 1970 status.
The original cars that are still in competition today will most likely always be upgraded to current competitive updates because there's just not enough left of the original to be financially feasible to return them back to leaf springs etc.
Don't get me wrong, it's great to see guys are still pounding on these old war horses.They are doing exactly what they were originally built for.
But, I am missing those "nose bleed" wheel stands that they were most famous for. Now they leave like a pro stock car.
