Default Re: 1962 Mopar 383/343 HP 'Stocker'

On the 1962 Mopar Station Wagons,,,,

1962 Dodge Model #440 3-Seat/9-Passenger Station Wagon

Car Weight; 3608 lbs.
Wt/Hp Factor (383/343 HP) = 10.51
Classes;
1962 = S/SA
1963 = B/SA
1964 = B/SA
1965 = B/SA
1966 = C/SA
1967 = B/SA
1968 = F/SA
1969 = G/SA
1970 = H/SA
1971 = H/SA
1972 = SS/JA

Wt/Hp Factor (361/305 HP) = 11.83
Classes;
1962 = B/SA
1963 = D/SA
1964 = D/SA
1965 = D/SA
1966 = E/SA
1967 = D/SA
1968 = H/SA
1969 = I/SA
1970 = J/SA
1971 = J/SA
1972 = SS/LA

What is fairly obvious, the 62' Dodge Wagon with the 383/343 engine combination became highly desirable in 1968,
with the 10.51 Wt/Hp Factor in the new '1968' NHRA classes.

Pre-1968 (1963 thru 1967), the 62' Dodge Model #440 Station Wagon (383/343 HP), (# 3608 lbs.)
fell into the same class as the lighter (# 3313 lbs.) 62' Polara 500 (383/343 HP) 2-Door Hardtop.

Cannot find any records showing that a 62' Dodge Wagon with the
383/343 engine campaigned in 1962.
